February 2007 News/prayer update

Dear Praying friends

It is hard to believe that it is a year now since John took up the position of chairmanship of the Trust. As we look back we can see the mighty hand of God working amongst us and through all that we as a Trust seek to do. We would like again to thank you of your faithful remembrance and support of the Lord’s work through the work of TCFDT. It is our desire to see the lives of whom we seek to help and teach in practical ways touched and won for the Master.

The Church

Praise the Lord back in November a Pastor was appointed to the work in Ndevelwa. We had been praying for some time for a Pastor. Please pray for Pastor Ulanga as he settles into the work, pray that he will have a great burden for the people of Ndevelwa village. Pray that he will be encouraged in all that he seeks to do for the Lord and that soon we will hear of men, women and children putting their trust in the Saviour.

Ndevelwa Farm

Toward the end of November the water situation on the farm was getting serious. In fact the whole country was in difficulty as the water in the hydro dams was low which resulted in the electricity being rashened. We were praying earnestly for rain. Here follows a report from Tanzania “The dry season is over. The rains have set in furiously sometimes. The foliage is green everywhere and the abundant happy times for all animals. For us it is quite a relief after the five month dry spell in which we saw water dams at Ndevelwa literary dry up. The rains are a gift from our Lord for which we thank and praise Him,” We praise the Lord for this answer to prayer. Continue to pray that the rains may continue and that this year may be a good season and the crops will do well.

The Shop

There were many problems in the shop due to the continuing lack of electricity supply.

Meat and all the other farm produce were unable to be kept. Although we had our own

generators it was not feasible to run these for the length of time that was required. Pray

now that, as the electricity has been restored back to normal, the sales will resume and

the shop will be once again be a place where people will get fresh supplies.

The Dairy

Hamisi and the team have been able to maintain a some what low but steady production of milk due to two factors. One, towards the end of the dry season there was the problem that fodder was hard to get for the cattle and resulted in a low quantity of milk. The other factor was the same as the shop, no electricity to store the dairy products. There were also reports of a break in where a few small items were taken. The night watchman was fired as he was believed to have been involved. Pray for the Christians who work on the projects that they my get opportunities to witness to others who they come in contact with each day.

Kazima Orphanage and Farm

The pigs and cattle are thriving with the abundant supplies of food that the rains bring at this time of year. There is a lot of work to be done at Kazima this year. Preparations are under way to receive the team going from UK later this year. At the time of writing this, there are already 6 who have indicated their willingness to help and be part of the team later on this year.
